Dr. Jayaprakash Patil, who is currently a junior consultant at the Lancaster Hospital, England is a state gold medalist in ophthalmology for the year 2004 and has at least 10 publications in peer reviewed journals of America including the prestigious IOVS. He had done clinical fellowship at University of California, Irvine in medical retina under Dr. B.D. Kuppermann and has worked with Dr. Ron Kurtz, inventor of ALL-LASER (Intralase) LASIK. He later went on to do fundamental research at Summa Health System, Akron, Ohio where he was engaged in fundamental research in glaucoma. Even during his Christmas vacations of December 2009, instead of spending it on vicarious pleasures, he came down to Anjali Eye Center for phaco training. Such is the dedication of this man towards his profession and to his patients. He was extremely happy and content with the surgical exposure in a span of such a short time and so short a notice.
