By | March 1, 2016

Fuchs like uveitis

Etiology

CMV

Rubells

Herpetic

Toxo

Sarcoidosis

Study shows that AC tap showed equal number of Toxo antibodies and PCR positivity as compared to viruses

Toxo patients can have scattered KPs and raised IOP

So, do not treat Fuchs patients with anti-Toxo just because IgG is positive from blood if they do not have retinal lesion

But if from aqueous, then consider

Rx.

One sulfonamide Cotrimoxazole

One non sulfa like Clindamycin

And systemic steroids

For 6 weeks to 3 months

Minimum 6 weeks

At least 2 weeks of anti Toxo after stopping steroids
