Phaco Training: Quick, Efficient Cortical Wash with Simcoe Cannula

By | August 1, 2019

This video is a recording of one of the most elegantly performed phaco surgeries that I have ever seen. But today I wish you to leave the other steps for time being and concentrate on just two. One, the most cunningly and brilliantly hydro procedures performed by Dr. Tadanki which has broken all the adhesions between the core nucleus and the epinucleus and also between the epinucleus bowl and the capsule. Second, of course the cortical aspiration done using the simple Simcoe cannula so effortlessly. The technique used to aspirate the cortex has to be minutely examined for the surgeon after purchasing the upper triangular leaf not only aspirates to hold on to the cortical leaf but physically pulls it across centripetally to the center to pull the entire sheet out. My hats off to you Sir.
