Phaco Training: Viscodecompression before Hydrodissection

By | July 25, 2020

It is crucial that before you start any type of hydro procedure on the crystalline cataractous lens you decompress the anterior chamber of viscoelastic by pressing the base of hydro needle firmly against the lower lip of either the corneal or scleral incision. This ensures escape of excess viscoelastic or fluid from the anterior chamber thereby preventing abrupt rise of intro ocular pressure and ergo the dreaded complication of posterior capsule rupture.
